University of Islam No. 20

“A society is beautiful when it is educated.” -Messenger Elijah Muhammad

The University of Islam has consistently provided educational institutions for the children of South Jersey. Discipline and structure, as well as, Reading, Writing and Arithmetic are what the curriculum of Temple No. 20 is best known.

The University of Islam No. 20 is the K-12 private alternative educational institution established by the Honorable Elijah Muhammad in 1934. Brother Minister Wasim Muhammad facilitated the re-opening of The University of Islam No. 20 on Haddon Avenue in 2011.   As Executive Director, he has graduated high school seniors who have pursued advanced degrees in science, technology, accounting, criminal justice, culinary arts, etc. Former students of The University of Islam No. 20 work in local government and partake in a variety of entrepreneurial projects and businesses.

The campus of The University of Islam No. 20 stands out as a beautiful vision in the middle of an area that once looked like the typical plight of the inner city. The Muslims of Muhammad’s Temple of Islam No. 20 on Haddon Avenue are revitalizing the area to a place of inspiration and information.

Childcare Center

For almost twenty five years, our child care center has been a staple on Haddon Avenue in Camden, NJ.

The Childcare Center nurtures infants from six weeks of age through school age children up to thirteen years old. Nutritious meals are served throughout the day, after school tutoring and enrichment programs are part of the daily routine for neighborhood children.
