In the early years of the Nation of Islam, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad published articles in various Black publications including The Chicago Defender, the  Pittsburg Courier, the Amsterdam News, the Observer and The Crusader.  His articles in these publications exponentially increased their circulations.

In 1934 he published the very first newspaper titled, ‘The Final Call To Islam.’

Decades later, the first edition of Muhammad Speaks was published in 1961 with the title, “Some Of This Earth To Call Our Own Or Else.”

Muhammad Speaks began as a monthly publication growing to a national weekly newspaper which was soon emulated by mainstream publications.

Coalition for Remembrance of Elijah Muhammad (C.R.O.E.)

The Coalition for Remembrance of Elijah Muhammad (C.R.O.E.) was co-founded by Brothers Munir Muhammad, Shahid Muslim and Halif Muhammad in 1987 on the proposition that the Honorable Elijah Muhammad is the Last and Greatest Messenger of Allah and Leader of the Nation of Islam.

Additionally, C.R.O.E. houses the most extensive library of the Honorable Elijah Muhammad wherein visitors receive a guided tour of the Nation of Islam via videotapes, audiotapes and the writings of the Messenger.

The goal of the organization is to ensure the Messenger’s name, accomplishments and ideas are remembered and that C.R.O.E. serves as an institution of higher learning wherein sociologists, psychologists, historians, filmmakers, educators or anyone else can visit to learn the true history of the Nation of Islam.  Visit CROE.ORG to learn more.
